These 3 species of psilocybe mushrooms are rather rare and come from remote village of Huautla De Jimenez, Mexico. The ps. zapotecorum prints are cultivated mushrooms, while the ps. mexicana and ps. Caerulescens are picked from the wild. No other spore supplier has this species from this area of the world. What is so interesting about these mushrooms is they come from the remove village that made psilocybin mushrooms famous back in the 50's. A banker and mushroom researcher named Gordon Wasson was traveling to this part of the world and recording sacred mushroom ceremonies with a shaman named Maria Sabina. A few years later Gordon Wassons story and pictures were published in Time life magazine and the whole world was now aware that psilocybin mushrooms existed. Its a great story which I will write about in more detail in a couple of weeks when I have time. I even have the original Time Life magazine, perhaps I can scan it for others to read. There is very good book on this subject also called The Sacred Mushroom Seeker : Tributes to R. Gordon Wasson by Thomas Riedlinger.
